A second power adapter is a great convenience, allowing her to keep one at her dorm room desk and the other in her laptop case. The charger has a nice weight and is very good quality, with reinforced connectors and heavy gauge wires. It also does not run too hot, which is an issue I have seen with other replacement power adapters. I also like that this comes with a three year warranty and prominently lists the support email address and "Toll Free" phone number in the instruction booklet. This is a very good choice for a replacement or spare IBM/Lenovo Laptop Adapter! Highly Recommended! It's slightly heavier doing a "hand in hand" comparison between the actual Lenovo adapter though, so it may not be an adapter you wish to travel with. Personally, I'm leaving this one plugged in at home in the office and I'll put the Lenovo adapter I have in the travel bag. Now I can be lazy and not have to unplug the adapter when I travel. What you're looking for in a power adapter like this is that it powers up, it plugs in properly to your laptop and it charges your battery. For all of these requirements, the Anker adapter works exactly as expected. One nice thing that I haven't really seen on non-OEM adapters is that Anker has tried to replicate the gray color of the plug that connects to your laptop, so it looks more like the Lenovo adapter. This may or may not make it easier for you if, like me, you have multiple manufacturer's laptops in your house. The three year warranty is also quite nice, though given how few problems I have had with power adapters at work (I'm an IT guy), I can't imagine I'll ever need to avail myself of this service. Something interesting to note is that Anker has included an email address and a telephone number to call with any issues. That's not the interesting part, the interesting part is that they ALSO include the email address of the CEO of the company. Whether this is true or not, I'm not sure, but it at least gives me an indication they are trying to provide great customer service. I can't comment on whether they succeed there as the adapter works perfectly. And there's nothing better than a person getting what they want and not having to contact anyone to do it. One minor complaint is the manual. The English isn't perfect. It's nowhere near as bad as say, a Google translation of Japanese or Chinese, but it does have some weird terminology used. Since I don't need the manual to know to plug the 3 prong piece into the wall and the smaller piece into my laptop, this is mostly a non-issue. It just lends a less professional feel to the product. At less than 1/2 the price of the Lenovo equivalent, it is slightly heavier than the Lenovo adapter but works just as well. Recommended.
