Works great! Got it for my boyfriend, he spins 'records' on the computer and he loves it, we were a little worried it would be crappy since it's such a great price, but it's just fine. It also works well on his computers at work, they're office computers with no sound cards, you just plug this bad boy in and can listen to music!

I bought this to add audio to a hackintosh that I was having trouble with. I knew that for the cost of a cup of coffee, I wasn't going to be terribly impressed, however I was pleasantly surprised to be honest. This thing was recognized in both Win7 and OSX without a problem! The only problem with the adapter is the sound quality...I haven't experienced any buzzing or interference, however I would say that this is DEEPLY lacking in bass tones. A quick adjustment to a system equalizer was all that was needed to get half decent sound. Not decent, but definitely usable!

It's not a permanent solution, but for the price I am satisfied.

Oh also, you can find the 7.1 (virtual) surround sound drivers online...without them this is just a 2.1 stereo adapter! Keep that in mind or you will be very disappointed!

*UPDATE*
I recently purchased 12 of these from another online retailer, and only one has failed (headphone jack came loose). 11/12 is not bad at all!

This sound card was exactly what I needed for my laptop computer which has problems with its internal speakers. We use this card and attach external speakers and it works fine.
