It is not convenient to carry the iPad around without a handle, and for something that expensive, I wanted a little extra protection. The standard cases don't have a handle. They also can't carry the power cord. This case is a little big, but works perfectly. There is enough room for the iPad as well as any accessories you might have, including a keyboard. The neoprene gives it enough cushion that if you accidentally drop it, you won't freak out. The handle is comfortable and there is a double zipper to access the main compartment. There are two smaller compartments on the outside of the case perfect for power cords and small accessories, like the camera connector and a stylus. It has two outside pockets for the cords and a wireless mouse and inside enough room for not only the netbook but a standard size mouse pad.I looked at several sleeves in local stores but they were just that with nothing extra. This case will allow me to carry my netbook independently or toss it in my backpack when traveling. For the purple lovers, the color isn't quite a true purple but it's close.
