Received ahead of time and exactly as described. The netbook has worked perfectly right out of the shipping box. WIFI connection was a piece of cake. Clicked on the WIFI icon, put in the info required, and poof! there it was - connected to my WIFI network without a hitch. An excellent product you will enjoy if you are familiar (or are willing to become familiar) with Android OS systems and you are NOT a narrow-minded Windows user who's scared to death to try a different OS that's refreshingly new and does not hog resources unnecessarily with idiotic "services" and/or "processes"running in the background. Otherwise, and if you are willing to learn the Android world of tablets and netbooks, which doesn't really take much brain power, try this sleek-looking and superb netbook - it is an exceptional buy! I discovered a free word processor called secure memo. that is if you need to keep notes & not want to pay for the office suite, but I got the office suite anyway.The 4 gig main memory, I think is a requirement for this to work properly, & the 1800ma battery to be useful, at least this works well with these qualities, you can add more memory, to save your files too. I always have a lot of 8 gig spare sd cards when I need one. I had an android tablet, but for me, I really need a keyboard. Though it can be used as a toy, It will work as a portable professional tool, if the light weight is a must. As far as Android 2.2, this is the only program that seems to work on the internet, as well as office type functions as well. Remember that the power cord can loose a prong if needed to pull too hard to unplug, but I put the other one back together, on another computer, the power supply is not too expensive if it breaks. The Wolvol people seem to bend over backwards to keep their customers happy, but this one did not give me any trouble. I wanted a small light weight computer, very portable, & this is about as small as I can go, but I am happy. If you ever want a mouse to stablize the mouse functions, I found a GE mouse at Walgreens, with a retractable usb cord, that makes this little computer, seem more like a big computer, when you are sitting at the table. I had it a few days to adjust to it, downloading games & functions are reasonably quick operations. My grand son loves the calculator, the math baloons, sb piano & solitare. I wont let him play long on it, because I downloaded a program to remove unwanted programs, & once he gets a hold of it, it may not have any programs on it at all. I downloaded the office suite for , & it works well, even the spreadsheet,I did some five function angle problems, & they work like a big computer. When I shut it down, I normally push the button below the screen, it puts it in a hybernate mode, I did shut it down maybe two times, but from the hybernate, it takes a few seconds, & when i need it, It is back to running in a few seconds. It goes on to u-tube very quickly, but you do have to be choicey about some of the web sites that require large files. For little kids this is great, for us big people, this is lightweight, & very portable. The programs I loaded works well. Secure memo is a good free word processing program to download for notes, maybe a good diary, you give it a small code, & it keeps people out of your secret memos. OI Notepad can be downloaded free also, its good for grocery list, or much more, it gives lines on it, the words fit between the lines like lined paper. So as I see it, The computer could have been meant to be a toy, but it can fit in the big people's world too. I downloaded more games, all kid games, free from android, a link from the computer. They are easy, grandson likes them too. Though I many times go to the big computer to go online, my neighbor wanted to look at it , he went to the website, on this little computer, to show us where he plays bandjo on the weekends. I spend more time on the little computer, than on the big ones, its just more fun, & it can do what the big ones do. For the games, the little GE usb mouse is a necessity, Once you attach the mouse, nothing is impossible. I dropped the computer once about 30 inches, it shut down, I checked the battery compartment, & decided that the battery must have had a loose connection, but it started up when I plugged in the charger, it loaded & everything was back to normal. I thought it had a small battery, but this one came with 2600 ma. For this little computer that is big. I am sure that I can get a full 4 hours on a charge, but I usually never go that far with it. If you need to keep dates & notes on a calendar, there is a free download, with a flower as an icon, it was designed for rythum birth control, but it has a note pad for each day. The loaded calendar does not do that. THe best part about this little machine, Is that it only took a little while to set it up with the locked uverse system, if you went to walmart, it be simple to find the internet as you walk in. |
