I was skeptical of purchasing a replacement battery from a 3rd party but in the end wasn't willing to pay Dell 0 for a 9-cell 85WHr M1530 battery that will hold a 5% charge the day after the 1-yr warranty runs out.

This is the only battery I could find that actually matches the battery produced by Dell. Both are 9 cell, and the 7800mAh is the equivalent of the 85WHr Dell offers. Most other batteries offered by 3rd parties don't have the equivalent of 85WHr/7800mAh. So far this battery is giving at least 3-4 hours of life with my battery saving preferences. I've had it for a month - I'll be sure to post back to update how it is performing overtime. Note - I'm much more careful with it now, I leave the original battery in when I'm working at my desk using AC power and only fully charge the new battery when I need to go portable.

I get 3-4 hours on a full charge if I use it 100% during that time. If I am not using the computer I have left it running for 8+ hours and it still had juice left.

The battery arrived in a timely fashion. Once it has been charged up it only stays charged for abour 1hr. This is better than my previous dell battery when it was dying. My new battery does not compare to the dell battery with it's ability to stay charged for 2 plus hours. I just hope it either improves or does not decrease in holding 1hour charge. Not sure if I would buy it again, but it does have a 1yr warranty.

Bought this for the wife, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I tend to buy higher-end laptops and computers, so purchasing a <0 laptop was a bit of a challenge for me. However, the screen is really vibrant, and the Windows Experience ratings were pretty good all things considered. And moreover, seems like you get some pretty good features at a lower price than some of the comparably equipped i5 machines (not exactly sure how much the AMD chip compares to the i5's, but for what my wife is using it for, should work out quite nicely considering she has no idea what World of Warcraft really is).

As a computer repair technician most of my life, I need power in the field, without the weight and headache of a "desktop replacement." After a lot of research, I decided that this had all of the features I needed, and none I didn't. I also much prefer discrete AMD-Vision graphics tuned for AMD quad-core CPU's. Great sound, plenty of RAM, USB3.0 (a must), Bluetooth3.0, fast "N" wireless, can play Bluray HD discs natively, and can read/write any memory stick clients throw at me. The final nail was all of these features, in a trusted brand name, for such a low price!
I swapped out the HDD for a SSD, and it boots in seconds! Definitely worth the extra 0 + maybe a "GEEK's" help to install, while preserving the original Win7x64 installation - even tuning it in the process.

This is a fine machine...I'm happy with it...I got it at a good price and works very well. I didn't gave it 5 stars because the battery life...it just doesn't last as it should..... Anyway...if you're planning to use it as a desktop machine...you're good. The blue ray is a great plus for the price... ;)

I ordered this netbook because I wanted the functionality of a notebook with some of the features of a tablet (most notably, for reading and highlighting PDFs and the like). This little Asus has impressed me so far on both accounts.
I read the reviews of the folks with the Win 7 starter/ 1GB RAM version, and must say I have not had any of the problems they have had with performance. The touch screen works well enough, although when I updated my video driver it stopped working, so I had to roll back. There are a few spots at the edge of the screen where it gets a little less accurate, but on the whole I find it works the way I need it to.
The biggest problem I've had with the machine is, unfortunately, the charger. It ran very very hot for about a month, and now, not at all. I'm writing this with less than an hour left on my battery, and until a replacement charger gets to me (ordered separately- I have not been able to get through to Asus warranty support, so there goes that last star) I will not be able to use the computer, which is a pity.
Good machine at a better price, but you're not paying for great customer service.

Overall, I'm pretty dang happy with this device. I need something portable that I can take serious notes on during meetings and that can work offline. Tablets aren't there yet, but this netvertible meets you in the middle. It's Missing the finesse of a tablet, but delivers on productivity where a tablet just can't.

The device feels sturdy and well-built. My 3 year old got hold of it yesterday and I found it with the screen at a strange angle which made me think she'd broken the hinge, but it had held up just fine. Went right back into place.

The keyboard isn't too loud for typing in a meeting. Boot-up time is negated by the ability to put it to sleep for extended periods of time by simply closing it.

Don't expect to be awed by the screen or the battery. The touch experience and the viewing experience are both just average. I get about 3 solid hours of constant note-taking time before it cries for it's power cable. Works for me because it charges back up pretty quick, but may be too little for others.

There are Wintel tablets out there, but they cost about ,000. And did I really want a pure tablet with no keyboard?

This is the replacement for my Asus 1008HA. It's a small computer, which I like. However, a lot of people don't care for the size of the keyboard, finding it too small. I don't mind it. More important, I like its feel much more than the keyboards of the two 1015PXs and 1018HAs that I tried on my way to this computer. The 1015PX purchased only two months ago as the best of the lot has been passed on to my son.)

I chose this version of the T101MT because I wanted the 2GB of memory, the larger hard drive, and Win 7 Professional. I could have bought the less expensive version and upgraded the memory and operating system myself, saving a few dollars in the bargain, but I was happy to avoid the headache and have Asus do it for me. Also, I wanted that larger hard drive.

What can you do with a touch screen and Windows? Much of what you can do with a mouse or trackpad. You can click and and you can drag, but instead of doing it with a cursor, you do it with either your finger or the built in stylus. I'm far from being expert here, though. My reason for getting it was to be able to do everything I could do with my 1008HA AND comfortably read PDF documents on a flat surface. I am not disappointed.

The biggest downside, and reason for 4 stars rather than 5, is its weight. The T101MT is 3 lbs 1 oz compared to the 1008HA's 2 lbs 5 oz. While the T101MT is only one-third again as heavy, it's the difference between knowing you're carrying something around and hardly noticing it at all...at least for me.
